The B-17 Eagle, often called "The Flying Fortress" in the press, was a massive, long range, heavy-bomber developed by Joseph Redeagle, aka Captain Redeagle, for the United States of America before the start of World War II. The Eagle was a heavily modified variation on this craft which operated from 1941-1945 as the mobile headquarters of the superhero team the Knights.

The B-17 Eagle was stolen by the Crimson Dragon and destroyed by an atomic bomb blast over Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. A replica of it hangs in the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum in Washington, DC.
